Holiday Homework on asknlearn -

ENGLISH :

You are to prepare a skit based on the theme of Environmental Conservation.

Work in the groups that you have been assigned for the Sungei Buloh fieldtrip.

You are required to present and submit your work in Term 3 Week 1.

Imagine that you and your group members are volunteers of the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Your group has been designated to prepare a presentation that will help to educate primary school students on the importance of the conservation of wildlife.

Remember the following:

Target audience: Primary school students

Objective of presentation: To allow the primary school students to appreciate the need of environmental conservation

Type of Presentation: a skit using puppetry.

You have attended the Term 1 EL Speech and Drama Course (Puppetry).

Therefore, you are to make use of the knowledge that you have been acquired during the course to prepare a presentation that would captivate the attention of your target audience.

In your presentation, you should:
-Make your own paper puppets (e.g. birds, flowers, characters, etc)
-Incorporate music and sound effects if necessary
-Make use of props to enhance your role play

Reflection:
Each member in the group is also required to submit a reflection of the fieldtrip.

Below are some guiding questions for your reflection:

-What did I do during the fieldtrip to Sungei Buloh?
-What is the most memorable part of the fieldtrip?
-What are two things that I have learnt?

Your reflection should be about 200 words.

Submit a hard copy (on A4 size paper) of your reflection to your English teacher in Term 3 Week 1.

In your reflection, you are encouraged include some photographs that you have taken during the fieldtrip.

CHINESE :

1. For Journal, please hand in 2 pieces of work (200 words each).

You can write about:

(a) A Day at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve;
(b) A Fruitful June Holiday.

2. For Newspapers' Write-Up, please hand in 2 pieces of work (200 words each).

(a) You should look for articles on recent Sichuan earthquake and write your comments;
(b) Or Look for articles on environment issues and write your comments.

You are required to submit your written work using the school's square papers ONLY.

All works should be HAND WRITTEN &
for the newspapers' write-ups, do remember to ATTACH the newspapers' cuttings together with your written comments.

Oh, and Ms Cheng said do 2 Book Reviews also.

MALAY:

1) PW-Complete the PW project during the school holidays so that it could be presented on the 1st week when school re-opens. Make sure you are prepared with the model structure and the scrapbook.

2) Journal entry on the Sungei Buloh fieldtrip. We are supposed to go to this website: www.melayu@sungeibuloh.blogspot.com. In this blog, we have to write our reflections regarding the Sungei Buloh field trip on the 26th. The reflection must not be any lesser then 100 words. Attach 3 pictures taken there to your reflections too. (If you dont have pictures, you have to draw 2 pictures in relation to what you saw there and your reflections about the activities carried out there by using the paint program.) Your reflection MUST have something got to do with the pictures you attached.

** This blog only start working on the 29th of May, thursday.

Marks will be taken as part of our CA2 !! So do it well !

MATHS:

Complete the set of worksheet given to us by Mrs Liew.

SCIENCE:

Study Chapter 11 - Sound of textbook

& do the Sound Quiz.

Do also the Chapter 11 Review Questions on a piece of foolscap paper.

Complete the following quizzes (found in the Quiz section)

Quiz 1: Light

Quiz 2: Electricity

HISTORY:

Read Chapter 6 - How did World War II affect Singapore?

Then, complete Chapter 6 of your Workbook.

Also, find out more about Lieutenant Adnan bin Saidi.
You can write some short notes (about 200 words) and staple this in your Workbook.

LITERATURE:

Read Chapters 6 to 10 of 'Animal Farm’.

Draw a mind map that reflects one significant event in each chapter (6-10) in your Literature exercise books.

You are required to use one full page for every mind map drawn.

This is to help you understand the plot development in each chapter.

Your mind maps MUST be ready by the first week of Term 3.

GEOGRAPHY:

The homework can be found in the Homework Section.

You can use the template to fill in the answers after you have done your research and present them neatly in an A4 poster form for submission.

D & T:

Study your textbook on Chapter 14 - Working with Materials, Page 169 to 200.

Then go to QUIZ and take a short quiz.
